Multi-K® Reci | Potassium nitrate with a low sodium content

Multi-K® Reci is Haifa’s new potassium nitrate with an extra low sodium content. This potassium nitrate was specially developed for crops whose cultivation involves a lot of recycling, to reduce the risk of a too high sodium level in the nutrient solution, eliminate the need to discharge drainage water and help growers save on the costs of their fertilisers.

100% closed systems

Growers are statutorily required to use 100% closed systems. This reduces the burden on the environment and implies savings in costs for the growers, because the water and fertilisers contained in leaking drainage water also cost money. Apart from minimising the risk of the leakage of drainage water, the discharge of effluents must also be limited as much as possible. However, the consequence of this is that virtually no fresh water and nutrients are supplied, with the risk of non-beneficial elements accumulating in the substrate and the irrigation system.

Accumulation of sodium

One of the main elements that may accumulate is sodium. Most plants don’t take up sodium, so its concentration in the nutrient solution will increase. There is only one way of eliminating such high concentrations, and that’s by discharging the solution and then supplying fresh water and nutrients. That will mean that nutrient solution can’t be recycled for a certain number of days, depending on the sodium content. This is bad for the environment, and fertilisers will be discharged along with the water.

Pure affordable fertiliser

There is a growing market demand for a pure, affordable fertiliser with the lowest possible sodium content. Haifa’s Multi-K® Reci potassium nitrate offers a tailor-made solution for crops whose cultivation involves a lot of recycling. Multi-K® Reci contains up to 20 times less sodium than other fertilisers.

Guaranteed Na content

Haifa is one of the first producers to guarantee the maximum sodium content in its fertiliser. Growers are guaranteed that Multi-K® Reci contains at most 300 ppm Na. The typical value* of Multi-K® Reci is only 150 ppm Na.

Packaging

Multi-K® Reci is available in bags of 25 and 1000 kg and in MyMultifeed bigbags.
